This weekend, the Velocity Pro Sims Esports Racing Team is gearing up for one of the biggest endurance events on the iRacing calendar—the 24 Hours of Spa. In a surprise but exciting development, team owner Jose Cabrera is returning to the driver’s seat to compete alongside current drivers Edwin Litolff and Dylan Slonetsky. Cabrera, who last suited up in competition over a year ago, expressed his excitement: “Spa is one of the most iconic tracks in motorsports, and to be able to get back in the car with this team means everything. I’ve watched these guys grow and now I get to battle it out with them on track.” Conspicuously absent from this weekend’s lineup is VPS cornerstone Steven Hickham Jr, who will be sitting out due to family obligations. “Steven’s presence will definitely be missed,” Cabrera said, “but we support him 100%, and we’ll be pushing even harder for a strong result in his honor.”
VPS Crew Chief Dougy Trupski, a veteran of real-world motorsports and a cornerstone of the team’s strategic success, shared his excitement about Jose’s return:
“Having Jose back in the car brings a spark to the whole team. His passion for racing is what started this all, and seeing him gear up again reminds us why we do what we do. This will be my first race working wit Jose as a driver and I am really looking forward to it.”
Despite the lineup change, the team will still provide live coverage of all 24 hours on Steven's official YouTube channel, bringing fans along for every lap, pit stop, and heart-pounding moment. Velocity Pro Sims is ready to attack Spa with a refreshed roster and a mission to prove their endurance mettle once again. Be sure to tune in and follow them on Facebook to cheer them on throughout the grueling race weekend.
